Interest in lathe work and turning wood began way back in the 1960s in a high school wood shop class.  However, it was not until the 1990s that career and other reduced time demands enabled Fred to purchase his first wood lathe and dive deep into the adventures and discoveries of turning wood as a creative and enjoyable experience.  At first Fred's woodturnings became gifts and populated the homes of friends and family.  Later, as his artistic talent begn to be discovered, his pieces began to be found not only in living rooms and kitchens, but also in corporate lobbies and boardrooms as well as gifts for corporate executives.  Fred develops a bond with each piece he turns and it is a joy to him to share his art.  TURNCRAFTER was born out of the desire to create and share.
